Some of our favorite guests fly in. They land at Daytona International Airport, step outside, and within 35 minutes they're pulling into the driveway at The Heart of Palms with a Jeep Rubicon under them and a weekend of Florida adventure ahead.
The Airport
Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is 32 miles from the house — about 35 minutes on I-95 North. It's a small, easy airport with direct flights from major hubs including Atlanta, Charlotte, and New York. No long security lines, no sprawling terminals.
The Jeep Rubicon via Turo
After booking the home on Airbnb, guests can rent the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon through Turo. The Rubicon can be arranged for airport pickup — coordinate through the Turo app after your Airbnb booking is confirmed. Drivers must be 25 or older with a valid license and a verified Turo account.
The Drive to Palm Coast
The drive north on I-95 is easy and scenic. If you're arriving in the afternoon, consider stopping at Flagler Beach for a quick walk — it's right off the highway and a perfect way to stretch your legs after the flight.
What to Pack (and What Not To)
- The house is fully stocked — towels, linens, kitchen essentials. Pack light.
- Bring your beach gear or plan to grab it locally — there are surf shops in Flagler Beach.
- The Rubicon has a soft top — pack a light rain layer just in case.
- Dog food and any specialty pet items should come with you; local options are limited.
The Fly-In Itinerary
- Friday afternoon: Land at DAB, pick up the Rubicon, check in to the house, hot tub.
- Saturday: Drive on Daytona Beach in the morning, Saint Augustine in the afternoon.
- Sunday: Flagler Beach sunrise walk, slow morning, head back to the airport.
